Greg Coyle is a RY 500 hour YogaWorks certified hatha yoga instructor, and 200 hour Anusara teacher. He started teaching in 2002 in Los Angeles, California, and today teaches regular classes in Oslo.
He was born in Tucson, Arizona, and has lived in various cities in the US, and since July 2004 in Oslo, Norway.
Greg started yoga as a teenager in Saint Louis, Missouri, practicing and enjoying hatha yoga during a semester class in 1995.
It was many years later that Greg returned to yoga upon recommendations from a chiropractor to help with lower back pain.He started practicing hatha yoga again regularly in 1998, and in 2001 his regular teachers began practicing and teaching Anusara yoga themselves.Greg has also studied various other yoga forms such as Ashtanga, Power, Flow, Iyengar, Kundalini, and Jivamukti (at various centers in Los Angeles, San Francisco, and New York).
In 2002, Greg started the Anusara Teacher Training program at City Yoga in Los Angeles, and has since taught Anusara style hatha yoga www.anusarayoga.com in Los Angeles, Berkeley, and San Francisco, California,and Oslo, Norway.
Greg has an MBA and works with business control and international financial reporting.
Greg has been working at BALANCE Yoga & Pilates studio in Oslo as a senior instructor since 2006 www.balancestudio.no, he has been participating as a volunteer instructor at the Yoga festival in Oslo since 2008 www.yogafestivalen.no, and various other events.He has regular weekly classes , and holds workshops and seminars through out the year.
Greg uses yoga in addition to cross-training with running, cycling, swimming, triathlon, and weights. He enjoys cooking and eating healthy food, and regularly travels throughout Europe with his partner.
